Murals of Hope: Little Haiti
Murals of Hope: Little Haiti is a Haitian-led public art beautification initiative created to transform overlooked spaces throughout Flatbush, Brooklyn and neighboring communities into powerful cultural landmarks centered around hope, unity, resilience, and Haitian pride.
Presented by Dew World in partnership with African Peach Arts Coalition (APAC), the initiative brings together artists, businesses, community leaders, and residents to revitalize Little Haiti through meaningful murals that uplift the spirit of the community, encourage tourism, support local businesses, inspire future generations, and create a deeper connection to culture and identity through public art.
Our long-term vision is to complete approximately 25 murals throughout Little Haiti and surrounding neighborhoods, transforming walls impacted by neglect and vandalism into symbols of beauty, courage, and community empowerment.
We officially begin the first mural phase during the week of 18th of June, starting with a mural site already secured within Little Haiti at the corner of Newkirk Avenue and Nostrand Avenue. The project has already received support and encouragement from local business owners, community stakeholders, artists, volunteers, and council leadership, with plans underway for a future community unveiling and ribbon-cutting ceremony.
Murals of Hope is more than a mural project. It is a movement rooted in community healing, cultural celebration, and positive transformation through art.
